The domestic Indian esports scene is among the fastest-growing hubs in the world. And at a time when coronavirus has paused almost every sport in the world, it is through esports, that people are finding some sort of relaxation.

But, does the average Indian know how much players can earn by taking part in tournaments and playing esports professionally?

Here we list the top 5 highest earners in the Indian esports scene.

#5 Ace -- Tejas Sawant

Tejas Sawant, also known as 'ACE', is one the best Counter-Strike players in the country who is made waves in Southeastern Asia. The veteran gamer, who hails from Thane, had almost quit but he came back and how. He has played for a number of teams but is most known for his appearance at ESL One: Cologne 2014.

Till date, he has a total prize money of approximately $15,000 and is the fifth highest earner among Indian gamers.

#4 Excali -- Karan Mhawadkar

A professional CS: GO player, Karan Mhawadkar or Excali was fond of playing on computer games since his childhood. His friend introduced him to Counter Strike 1.6 and gradually his love for the game went on increasing. He has been playing for Team Entity since 2018 and has never looked back.

He has won multiple tournaments in India with his respective teams, like ESL India Premiership and Mountain Dew Arena and has a earned a total of $16,590 (approx).

#3 DitterBitter -- Mihir

Mihir, or DitterBitter as he is known, yook yo Old School RuneScape (OSRS), a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Jagex. In somewhat an unconventional esports, DitterBitter did not let that deter him as he managed to finish #2 in 2 tournaments to earn $17,500. His earnings made him surpass any other Esports players in India last year.

#2 BlizzarD -- Balaji Ramnarayan

Balaji "BlizzarD" Ramnarayan is a professional Dota 2 player who is currently playing for Global eSports. Having entered the pr scene just 4 year back in 2016, the youngster has made rapid strides. A 6-time ESL India Premiership winner, BlizzarD’s total earnings stand approximately at $23,099.

He is the second highest earning gamer in India, currently.

#1 Mortal and Viper -- Team SouL

Team Soul is among the best PUBG Mobile squads out there in India. They recently emerged victorious in the PUBG Mobile Club Open - Spring Split: India to earn a massive $60,000 from the tournament.

Then, a 12th finish in PUBG Mobile Club Open - Spring Split Global Finals meant Team Soul has earned a total of $65,500, $15,625 for each team member, Mortal, Owais, Ronak, and Viper. They would also go on to come 2nd in PUBG Mobile Club Open - Fall Split: South Asia.

Mortal and Viper, who have been there since the start each have earned approx $38,000 and are the highest earning gamers in India.
