Asian Games 2026: India exit eFootball after Uzbekistan top Group F

India’s eFootball campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games ended in the group stage after the team finished second in Group F on Tuesday.

India, represented by Danial Patel and Chinmay Sahoo, collected four points from their two matches. However, only the group winners advanced to the quarterfinals, with Uzbekistan securing top spot and progressing to the last eight.

India began their campaign with a goalless draw against Uzbekistan, with Danial Patel and Chinmay Sahoo sharing the points with Abubakir Iminjonov and Farrukh Mirkhamitov.

Their second match ended without India taking the field, as the Mongolian team of Munkh-Ochir Batmanlai and Khantamir Munkh-Orgil handed them a walkover.

That result left India with four points, but Uzbekistan moved ahead after defeating Mongolia in their second outing. The Uzbek side finished with four points from two matches, with their win over Mongolia giving them the result needed to finish above India.

The top-ranked team from each group qualified for the quarterfinals, bringing India’s esports campaign to an early end.
