Activision Publications have announced that they have called off the Grand Finals of Call of Duty: Mobile World Championships 2020, thanks to the fear of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“We’ve had to make a difficult decision, but we are putting the health and well-being of our players regarding the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championships 2020. Out of abundance of caution, the Stage 5: Grand Finals of the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2020 will not take place,” Activision said through a twitter post from the official account of Call of Duty Mobile.

Through the post Activision conveyed that the well-being of their fans and players is always their highest priority and that the prize pool for the Stage 5 will be equally distributed between all the seven teams which qualified for the Grand Finals.

“As a result of the Stage 5: Grand Finals cancellation, the remaining prize pool will be distributed evenly across the Stage 4: Regional Playoff Champions,” the twitter post read.

Team Mayhem from India had qualified for the Stage 5: Grand Finals after winning the Eastern Europe and Rest of Asia Regional Playoffs.

Team Mayhem was led by in game leader Jash ‘Learn’ Shah during the regional playoffs. The team consisted of Zeel ‘Neutrino’ Patel, Anirudh ‘Vegaz’Vhavle, Sameer ‘Broszxs’Sinha, Chiranthan ‘BurnZ’Shetty and Rishi ‘Trunks’Dubey, while Husanbir ‘Grim’ Singh Sidhu, Ruyam ‘Creameh’ Ganatra were the substitutes.
