The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Twitter India have joined forces to launch seven new custom emojis for the third edition of Women’s T20 Challenge.

To enhance user experience this season, we have launched seven new custom emojis around the league, as well as for its teams and the respective captains,” Twitter India said in a statement.

The seven emojis are for the three teams – Supernovas, Velocity and Trailblazers; the three skippers – Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj and one for the tournament itself.

According to Twitter India, this is the first ever instance of an Indian women’s sporting league getting its own custom emoji.

How to use these custom emojis?

To use the custom emojis, you would have to use the following hashtags:

#Supernovas for the team Supernovas’ emoji

#Velocity for the team Velocity’s emoji

#Trailblazers for the team Trailblazers emoji

#Harmanpreet or #Harman for the Supernovas skipper Harmanpreet Kaur

#Mithali or #MithaliRaj for the Velocity skipper Mithali Raj

#Smriti or #SM18 for the Trailblazers skipper Smriti Mandhana

#WomensT20Challenge for the tournament

With the release of these brand new emojis, Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana became the second and third Indian women cricketers to have a custom emoji after them on Twitter. Mithali Raj had a custom emoji after her during the 2017 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup and was incidentally also the winner of the emoji leaderboard during the tournament.
