Harmanpreet, Smriti, Veda to lead teams in Senior Women’s T20 Challenger

The squad announced for the upcoming Senior Women's T20 Challenger Trophy. India T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, and Veda Krishnamurthy will lead the three teams. They will be leading a 14-members squad each, which will take on each other twice before the top two teams lock horns in the final. The tournament is all set to take place in Cuttack's Barabati Stadium, from January 4 to 11, 2020.

Players have been among games in recent times. While India registered a convincing win in the limited-overs series against West Indies in November, India A recently played against Australia A. Although they have lost the series, there were a few notable performances as well, including Shafali Verma who broke Sachin Tendulkar's 30-year old record of becoming the youngest player to score a fifty, smashed a century against Australia A.

These teams featured a lot of top players in each team. While India A includes Taniya Bhatia, Deepti Sharma, Priya Punia, Radha Yadav, Smriti Mandhana led India B team is boosted with the players like Sushma Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Poonam Yadav, Shikha Pandey and Pooja Vastrakar. On the other hand, India C team includes Arundhati Reddy, Rajeshwari Gayekwad and Shafali Verma who will play under Veda Krishnamurthy.
