Coronavirus situation is being monitored: TOPS secretariat

Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) secretariat has assured that the worsening situation of coronavirus is being taken care of.

Union sports secretary Radhey Shyam Julaniya said on 4 March said that ''TOPS secretariat are assisting and monitoring the situation. We have full fledged system which is working, the top secretary is already there, they are guiding, advising and working with the federations of the athletes. They are in contact with each and every athlete,'' Julaniya told ANI.

Many Indian athletes are participating in tournaments outside the country and this makes them even more prone to the virus as they will be meeting people from all around the world. In a difficult and risky situation like this, TOPS secretary assured that they are in contact with every player.

"TOPS officials are advising monitoring and guiding. They are advising each and every athlete and they are in touch with concern national federation. Both Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and health ministry have issued health advisory."
