Booknplay, a Chennai-based startup, whose facility booking platform and CRM tool has helped over 600 sports venues across 9 cities in India has joined forces with Singapore-based sports technology startup Rovo to help boost India’s sporting communities.

As part of the partnership, BooknPlay users can look forward to more features in the Rovo app such as Rovo’s sports matching capability which connects players to other players while the over 600 venue partners across India will also get immediate access to Rovo for Business - a comprehensive all-in-one software for sports facilities and providers. The partnership was finalised after a 6 month trial period that began in June 2019.

“We are very pleased to be joining a company which aligns with our core values of business and our desire to positively impact India's sports community. Rovo has a dynamic team with a very strong technology background. Joining Rovo was an easy decision since our users and venues immediately get a much better product and can look forward to better service and support tools. ” said Ananth, Co-Founder of Booknplay, who now assumes the new role as Director of Rovo India.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Booknplay and its founders Ananth and Jai. They have done an amazing job in building the trust of venues all around India with the limited resources. We look forward to offering an even better experience for our new users and venues – beyond reservations. ” said Ritesh Angural, Co-Founder & CEO of Rovo. In light of the current COVID-19 situation, the team’s first order of business is to help their existing venue partners tie over this difficult period.

“In these challenging times, we are 100% committed to supporting our venue partners in any way we can. We intend to roll out upskilling workshops to help our partners operate their venues more efficiently using technology and also arm their staff with the soft skills to provide better customer experiences. In addition, we will be waiving our commissions for up to 6 months after venues reopen to help our partners ease their cash flow and channel their resources towards restarting their sporting activities through attractive perks and discounts for their customer base.” said Ananth Narayan.
