After another successful outing that saw India add six medals to its tally- two gold and a silver in judo, a double podium in javelin, and the first-ever medal in Decathlon on Friday at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.
The country's athletes return for an exciting Day 10, which was the final day for the Athletics and boxing programme, featuring overall 21 medal events.
Ten boxing finals took place on August 1st, and led to a big boost for India's medal tally. Meanwhile, the men's triple jump final delivered a double podium for India, featuring Praveen Chithravel and Selva Prabhu.
In Para Athletics, Soman Rana and Shubham Juyal also confirmed a double podium for India. While Gulveer Singh returns for the 5,000m final and becomes India's only multi-medallist in Glasgow.

That's a wrap from the penultimate day of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
India produced one of its finest-ever days at the Commonwealth Games, collecting medals across boxing, athletics, para athletics and judo on Saturday, headlined by a record-breaking haul of seven boxing gold medals and Gulveer Singh's historic distance-running double.
Praveen Chithravel (16.58m) and Selva Prabhu (16.52m) secured silver and bronze respectively in the men's triple jump. Meanwhile, in the para athletics arena, Soman Rana (13.40m) struck gold in the men's Shot Put F57, while compatriot Shubham Juyal (13.28m) delivered another Indian one-two finish.
India's successful campaign in Glasgow will now come to an end on August 2nd with three final medal events each in Cycling and Judo on Sunday.

Athletics, Mixed 4x400m Relay Final: India finishes 6th with 3:20.32s
Indian quartet of Vishal TK, Ansa Babu, Santhosh Kumar and Rashdeep Kaur finished in 6th place in the final with a time of 3:20.32s.
Vishal TK had a good start to the relay, clocking 46.10s in the opening leg, but then Ansa had a slower race, clocking 54.10s, and India dropped to 7th place.
Santhosh tried to pull India back, clocking 46.40s, and then Rashdeep finished the race, clocking 53.72s to pip the Australian Jemma Pollard, who pulled her hamstring and limped out the final few meters.

Athletics, Men's Pole Vault Final: Dev Meena finishes 4th with a best of 5.30m
Dev failed his final attempt at the 5.40m mark and has now bowed out of the medal race as three athletes have already cleared this height.
He will end the competition just outside the podium, finishing in 4th place with a best of 5.30m .

Dev Meena missed his first two attempts at the 5.40m mark and dropped to 4th position, as only three athletes have cleared this height so far.
The fight for a medal will be intense if Dev clears on his third attempt.

Athletics, Men's Pole Vault Final: Kuldeep Kumar finishes 6th with a best of 5.10m.
Kuldeep Kumar failed his two attempts at 5.30m but then skipped his third attempt at this height and moved to 5.40m.
However, he couldn't clear that height as well and hence was knocked out of the tournament as the pole vaulter in the field with a best of 5.10m.

Athletics, Men's Pole Vault Final: Dev Meena clears the 5.30m mark on first attempt
Dev Meena maintained his clean record and cleared the 5.30m mark on his first attempt, and is now in joint lead.
Kuldeep Kumar, however, had his first failed attempt at this height and will now return for the next two attempts.
Dev Meena is only the third pole vaulter who has cleared this height so far, with one athlete yet to start his competition.

Athletics, Men's 5,000m Final: Bronze for Gulveer Singh; clocks 13:24.95s in the final
Gulveer Singh scripted history by becoming India's first-ever medalist in the 5,000m. He is now India's only multi-medalist in Glasgow.
Gulveer kept himself in the top five throughout, but in the final lap, when everyone started pushing, he fell behind but then showcased his Kick and toppled everyone to enter the top 2.
However, in the home straight, Australia's Ky Robinson bounced back and pushed Gulveer to third place, which he held on to in the final moments, clocking 13:24.95s.

Gulveer is in action for his second race of the Games, having already won a 10,000m silver medal.
He has kept the same plan for the 5,000m final, staying within the top 5 of the leading pack and commanding the inner lane.
