Defending champions, the Indian women's team, led by Manika Batra lost a very close tie against Malaysia in the quarterfinals 3-2. They crash out of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.

Defending champions India started their title defence on the perfect note as both the men's and women's teams recorded flawless wins and made it to the quarterfinals of the respective team events at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.
On Day 2, the women's team, led by Manika Batra, took on Guyana while the men's team, led by Sharath Kamal, took on Northern Ireland in the group stage matches and won both 3-0.
The Indian women's team crashed out of the women's team event quarterfinals after losing a close encounter against Malaysia 3-2.
