India built on its strong start to the Commonwealth Games 2026 campaign with another medal-packed day in Glasgow, with three medals on Wednesday.

Murali Sreeshankar opened the tally on the day, winning the silver medal in men's long jump with a leap of 8.09m. Minutes later, Dilip Gavit and Mohammed Basil followed in men's 100m T47, completing a double podium for India.

Elsewhere, it was heartbreak for Manpreet Kaur (Shot Put) and Suyash Jadhav (Para Swimming) as they ended up in fourth place in their respective events.

In boxing, six pugilists booked their spots in the semi-finals, confirming medals for India in Glasgow, while in athletics, national record holder Animesh Kujur qualified for the 200m semi-finals.

In weightlifting, India had only one medal event, but the teenager Sanjana couldn't find a valid lift in 77 kg snatch and bowed out of the competition early.

Weightlifting, Women's 77Kg Final: Sanjana fails all three of her snatch attempts; ends her campaign in Glasgow

The teenager had a heartbreaking debut at CWG as she failed to land any valid lift in the women's 77 kg category.

She failed all three of her attempts at 94 Kg as the barbell slid behind her back on all occasions, making it uncomfortable for her to handle.

She has a personal best of 96Kg in snatch from earlier this year, meaning this is not something she has never done before.

But now, her medal chances are over even before it started
