Indian chess sensation Gukesh D recently surprised a young fan with a heartfelt video message on the popular television show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).

The 18-year-old, who is training to challenge reigning champion Ding Liren in the World Chess Championship, took a moment from his rigorous schedule to uplift sixth-grader Arjun Agarwal, an aspiring grandmaster from Chhattisgarh.

During the KBC episode, host Amitabh Bachchan posed a chess-related question, leading Arjun to discuss his dreams of becoming both a doctor and a grandmaster.

Recognizing Arjun’s dedication, Bachchan introduced a video message from Gukesh, in which the young chess maestro commended Arjun’s passion and encouraged him to pursue his goals.

Gukesh even expressed his hopes of one day playing a game of chess with the young fan.

With a highly anticipated 14-game world championship duel set in Singapore, Gukesh is looking to make history as the youngest world champion.

His recent achievements, including a top-board gold medal at the Chess Olympiad, have put him in excellent form, while his opponent Ding has shown signs of struggle since claiming the title.

Gukesh’s appearance on KBC reflects his down-to-earth nature and dedication to inspiring future generations, as he stands on the brink of making chess history.
