End of an exciting 30 minutes of play. The first quarter was rather sedate, but Spain upped the ante in the second. They were eager to get things moving and had multiple circle penetrations but were denied by the brilliance of Suraj Karkera at the goal on a couple of occasions.
However, it was India, who looked subdued at the start, who opened the scoring in the second quarter, thanks to a brilliant shot from Sukhjeet Singh. They suddenly seemed to have grown in confidence after the goal and had two more chances but Sukhjeet and Abhishek couldn't find the net.
Spain scored on a counter attack soon after to equalise and ensure that the teams head into the half-time break on level terms.
