After an action-packed final two hours, India significantly improved its Commonwealth Games medal tally with four more medals in three different sports in Glasgow on Monday.

Sarvesh Kushare clinched silver in the men’s high jump, while Ajaya Babu Valluri earned silver in the men’s 79kg weightlifting category.

In the women’s Shot Put F57 event, Sharmila and Shilpa Shyla delivered a double podium finish for India, winning gold and bronze respectively.

Earlier in the day, India had two more weightlifting medals with Gyaneshwari Yadav (53Kg) winning the silver medal and Bindyarani Devi (58Kg) bagging a bronze medal.

Competition resumes on Tuesday with action in bowls, boxing, weightlifting, swimming, and athletics. Four medal events are scheduled, two each in athletics and weightlifting.
