India's Lokesh Sathyanathan qualified for the men's long jump final despite fouling his second and third attempts in the qualification round.
His opening jump of 7.77m proved enough to secure a place among the 12 finalists, as he advanced on ranking after no further improvements. Lokesh finished seventh overall in the qualification standings.
India will now have two representatives in the men's long jump final, with Murali Sreeshankar having earlier booked his spot with a first-attempt leap of 8.01m.
