A 14-year-old boy from Delhi scripted history after he delivered a winning bout at the Asian Schoolboy Boxing Championships 2019 in Kuwait in the 70kg category. Bharat downed Kyrgyzstan's Asanbekov Atai and put up a commanding 5-0 win to clinch a gold medal in his weight category. Bharat's parents couldn't ask for more. Brimming with pride at their son's feat, they watched their 14-year-old son overpower his opponent with power and precision in the championship. In the 70 kg category, Bharat proved too strong as Atai surrendered to a 0-5 defeat at Bharat's hands. The teen aiming to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics impressed everyone with his attacking approach and swift movement. Bharat, who has won four championships since June 2019, started with the district-and state-level games and later went on to win a gold medal in boxing at the National Boxing Academy in Rohtak on July 2.
