In a shocking incident, a district officer in the Madhepura district of Bihar allegedly chased down a young badminton player and thrashed him with a racket, leaving him with a bleeding head.

The video of the incident, posted by @ChapraZila on X, has already gone viral. The clip shows two players playing on the badminton court at the B P Mandal Indoor Stadium in Madhepura.

The official then can be seen chasing the young player wielding a badminton racquet.

As per the local media report, the player was already tired of training along with his peers and refused to play with the official. The player agreed to play a match after much insistence. As he won the match and refused to continue, the official chased him and thrashed the player on his head with the badminton racquet.

The official was later identified as Shishir Kumar Mishra, the Additional District Magistrate of Madhepura who is also responsible for overseeing the development of sports in the district. Shishir, however, denied the allegations.

According to Koshi Times, the young shuttler suffered head and face injuries. He was later admitted to the hospital. The boy was so terrified that, he even refused to speak to the media.

"We were playing with the ADM when he took my racquet away, broke it, and then struck me on my neck and head," the boy, named Raj Kumar, said.

Madhepura police are currently investigating the matter.

In a separate order, Madhepura District Magistrate Taranjot Singh also ordered a probe into the incident.
