India announce four-member women's squad for FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup
The Indian women's team will open their campaign on August 26 against China.
The Basketball Federation of India (BFI) selected a four-member team for the forthcoming FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Debrecen, Hungary from August 26 to 30.
The four players are Gunvi Agrawal of Madhya Pradesh, Aahana Benil George of Gujarat, and Maharashtra's Aanaya Bhavsar and Gunjan Mantri.
The Indian team, seeded 11th, have been slotted in Pool C alongside third seed Kyrgyzstan, sixth seed Japan, 14th seed China and 19th seed Uganda. The top two teams will advance to the quarterfinals.
India will open their campaign on August 26 against China.
Overall 20 teams each will compete in the women’s and men’s section, divided into four pools of five teams each.
The Indian men's U18 team, however, did not qualify for the tournament.
