Indian women's doubles pairing of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand achieved their career-best World ranking of 11 in the latest BWF World Rankings, released on Tuesday.

After making a group stage exit from the BWF World Tour Finals last week, Treesa and Gayatri jumped two places in the BWF World Rankings.

The pair had a decent outing at the BWF World Tour Finals, defeating higher-ranking Pearly Tan and Thinnah Muralitharan of Malaysia and came close to stunning World No. 1 Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning of China.

Last month, they claimed their women's doubles title at the Syed Modi India International Super 300 in Lucknow.

Another women's doubles pair in the top 20, Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto are currently ranked World No. 16.

In the men's singles, Lakshya Sen remains the best Indian male shuttler with a world rank of 12 while no other Indian is ranked in the top 25.

HS Prannoy is ranked 26th, while Priyanshu Rajawat and Kiran George are other Indians in the top 40, being ranked 34th and 38th, respectively.

In women's singles, PV Sindhu jumped one place to become world number 15 after her exploits at the Syed Modi India International.

The only Indian shuttlers in the world's top 10 across categories, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are currently ranked ninth in the world after a rather less active season. They have not played much since their quarterfinal exit from the 2024 Paris Olympics due to Satwik's injury.

The duo will start the new season under their former coach Tan Kim Her of Malaysia after their former coach Mathias Boe decided to renew the partnership.

With the BWF circuit season-ending, the Indian shuttlers would hope to put up a more consistent show in 2025.
