The biggest upset of the day was the defeat of the top seed and world no. 1 Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty against world no. 34 Daniel Lundgaard and Mads Vestergaard of Denmark.
Priyanshu Rajawat in men's singles and Aakarshi Kashyap in women's singles also lost their matches.
In mixed doubles, Ashith Surya and Amrutha Pramuthesh were no match for Hong Kong's Lee Chun Hei Reginald and Ng Tsz Yau.
In the women's doubles segment, Panda sisters - Rutuparna and Swetaparna - lost fighting against Chang Ching Hui and Yang Ching Tun of Chinese Taipei.
