Game 2: Sindhu gains early lead

Sindhu executes her net play brilliantly. She wins two points from the net play. Sindhu leads 2-1. 

Sindhu gains a 3-1 lead now as Marin misses Sindhu's crosscourt return due to the wrong angle. 

Sindhu gains a 4-1 lead now with a smash. 

Marin takes the opener

Marin sets up Sindhu nicely by drawing her first closer to the net and then making her wait at the backcourt. Marin finishes the rally with a whipping shot charging at the net. 

Marin won the first game 21-18. Marin holds her nerves till the last minute and wins the game. But it was a neck-to-neck battle.

Sindhu's return hits the net and Marin gains a 20-18 lead. Two game points for Marin.

Marin's return is hard and Sindhu's backhand return goes wide. Marin leads 19-18.

Marin draws level at 16-16, but Sindhu is not in a mood to concede her lead. She allows Marin's toss to go long to gain a 17-16 lead. 

But Marin is fighting back every time Sindhu gains a point lead. Marin draws level at 17-17. 

Sindhu follows it up with a body smash. It goes between Marin's legs. Sindhu leads 18-17.

Sindhu waits for the opportunity. Marin fails to sense the chance. Sindhu hits a crosscourt to Marin's backhand and extends her lead to 16-14.

Marin makes it 14-15 now.

Marin's return goes into the net. Sindhu draws the Spaniard closer to the net and extends her lead to 15-13.
