Indian shuttler HS Prannoy has posted an update on social media regarding his injury and return.

In the post, he says "After the Olympics, chikungunya hit harder than I expected, turning fatigue into pain and keeping me off the court for three long months."

And now, he appears to have hit the fast lane to recovery.

"Now, I’m back in training, stronger, and hungrier than ever. Your support has been my fuel, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got. Grateful for the fight, ready for the comeback."

The badminton ace has been away from competitive action for more than three months.

Prannoy last played in the Paris Olympics, where he was eliminated in the round of 16 of the men's singles event by fellow Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen.

He has been hit with injury concerns even before the Olympics and was not looking at his fluent best at the marquee event as well.

He took a break to address his injury concerns and now it looks like he is finally ready to be back playing competitive badminton.

While it is still unknown when exactly Prannoy will be back or which tournament he plans on taking part, it is an encouraging sign for Indian badminton to see one of its stalwarts back in action after an extended break.
