After his match was postponed to Wednesday due to a leaky roof at the Axiata Arena on Tuesday, Prannoy had to toil hard to overcome Yang in a three-match contest.

In the other men’s singles clash, it was the end of the road for Priyanshu Rajawat, who went down to World No. 7 Li Shifeng of China 11-21, 16-21 in 40 minutes.

In the women’s singles segment, Malvika Bansod started off her season with a 21-15, 21-16 convincing win over Goh Jin Wei of Malaysia.

However, the curtain fell on Aakarshi Kashyap and Anupama Upadhyaya. Aakarshi suffered a 14-21, 12-21 loss to Denmark's Julie Dawall Jakobsen. Anupama Upadhyay, on the other hand, managed to take a game off Pornpawee Chochuwang before falling short in a three-game contest 17-21, 21-18, 8-21

In the men’s doubles domain, the seventh-seeded Indian pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated Ming Che Lu and Tang Kai Wei 21-10, 16-21, 21-5.
