PV Sindhu cruised to the Round of 16 with a comfortable straight-game win over Canadain Wen Yu Zhang at the Madrid Spain Masters Super 300 on Wednesday. The mixed doubles pairing of B Sumeeth Reddy and N Sikki Reddy also advanced with a come-from-behind win over Chen Zhi Ray and Yang Ching Tun.
However, it was the curtain for the remaining Indian players, with Kidambi Srikanth being stunned by Japanese qualifier Koo Takahashi in straight games. Ashmita Chaliha, Mithun Manjunath and Kiran Goerge also made first-round exits.
