The Indian men's doubles shuttler Krishna Prasad Garaga and women's doubles shuttler Swetaparna Panda were caught doping and suspended by the National Anti Doping Agency.

Garaga has been handed a four-year suspension after he was tested positive for Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) in an out of competition test back in February 2024, as per The Tribune.

Garaga was provisionally suspended in July 2024 and his four-year suspension has been backdated to then. He last competed at the Canada Open Super 500, partnering Sai Pratheek the same month.

Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin is a prohibited substance for men as it is said to stimulate testosterone production.

Garaga has filed an appeal against the suspension with NADA's Anti Doping Appeal Panel.

Meanwhile, Panda was tested positive for terbutaline during the Odisha Masters last year. It helps in enhancing muscle strength, power, and endurance.

Panda last competed at the 2025 Indian Open Super 750 last week alongside her sister Rutaparna. She is also reported to be preparing her response to the National Anti Doping Agency's notice of charge.
