Several Indians will be in action Day 3 of the India Open on Thursday. PV Sindhu will take on World no. 110 Indian Ira Sharma, whereas Sameer Verma will take on Canada's Brian Yang in Round 2. Stay tuned for all the updates here.

UPDATE - Sameer Verma retires against Canada's Brian Yang
Sameer Verma, who was hoping to keep his winning momentum going, retired after playing only 6 points in his Round 2 match against Brian Yang of Canada. The sixth-seeded Indian had earlier informed The Bridge that he isn't 100% fit and is still nursing a few niggling injuries.
We hope Sameer Verma comes back stronger. Brian Yang, meanwhile, progresses to Round 3 by virtue of Verma retiring at 4-2 in Game 1.

Before we begin our coverage for the day, we'd like to inform that 7 Indian players - including Kidambi Srikanth and Ashwini Ponnappa have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, mid-tournament and have decided to withdraw. They will not be replaced by anyone else at this stage.
