The 2025 German Open, a Super 300 event, is all set to kick off at the Westenergie Sporthalle in Mulheim an de Ruhr on Tuesday.

With the top ranked shuttlers including the likes of PV Sindhu, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty, Lakshya Sen, and HS Prannoy all missing in action, the Indian challenge in the world tour event will be led by former world No 1 Kidambi Srikanth.

Srikanth, now ranked 45th in the world, will open his campaign against compatriot and a higher ranked Priyanshu Rajawat.

The 23-year-old Rajawat has often been likened to Srikanth for his playing style and expect nothing less than a thriller when the two face off.

Besides, Kiran George and Ayush Shetty will also be in action in the men's singles main draw of the event.

In the women's singles event, Anupama Upadhyay, ranked 44th, is the highest placed Indian in contention. She will open her campaign against Isharani Baruah.

Also in contention are Aakarshi Kashyap, Rakshitha Ramraj, Anmol Kharb, Tanya Hemanth and others.

Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila in mixed doubles are the only experienced doubles pair from the country in action.
