Welcome to the live blog of The Bridge from Day 3 of the BWF Badminton World Championships 2022 being held in Tokyo, Japan!
We are back with another day of exciting badminton action as Srikanth, Lakshya and Prannoy will be in action. All eyes will be on the much-awaited HS Prannoy vs Kento Momota clash as well.
In doubles, Satwik/Chirag will open their campaign as well.

Into Game 2 for Gayatri/Treesa, things aren't looking great
Gayatri and Treesa try to close in but they have some distance to cover up in the second game, where they lag at 14-18

Women's Doubles: Big troubles for Treesa-Gayatri
Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand have put up a much better fight in the second game, but the Malaysians are simply better. The Indians trial 7-11 at the mid-game interval.
Can they somehow force this into a decider? Looks unlikely for now.

Lakshya wins Game 1
A good fightback from the Spaniard but Lakshya Sen takes the first game rather easily at 21-17. The 2021 bronze medallist has looked in complete control and this is good signs for Indian fans.

Men's Singles: Penalver fights back
Lakshya Sen still has a two-point lead in Game 1, but this is a good fightback from Luis Penalver. The Indian has his nose ahead at 16-14.

Women's Doubles: Treesa-Gayatri surrender Game 1
That was a cakewalk for the Malaysians as they pocket the first game 21-8 in just 14 minutes. A lot to ponder about for Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand.

Men's Singles: Lakshya Sen starts well
Meanwhile, Lakshya Sen is enjoying a beautiful start in court 3 against Spain's Luis Penalver .The Indian leads 11-6 at the first mid game break.

Time for another heated clash as Gayatri/Treesa will clash against now-familiar Malaysian duo of Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan.
At the CWG where Gayatri/Treesa won bronze, Pearly and Thinaah defeated them twice. It was fiery matches.
Maybe they can serve their revenge today!
