HS Prannoy, the world no. 9, stunned top seed and reigning world champion Viktor Axelsen in a three-setter in the quarterfinal to ensure himself a medal at the BWF World Championships on Friday. Prannoy will now be in contention for a gold medal as he cruised to the semifinals.
World no. 2 Indian men's doubles duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, however, lost to Anders Rasmussen and Kim Astrup in the quarterfinal.
