Putting in solid performances, the young Indian men's team get their first group stage victory at the BATC 2022, winning 3-2 against Hong Kong.

Welcome to the live blog of The Bridge from Day 3 of the Badminton Asia Team Championships 2022 being held at Shah Alam, Malaysia!
With Lakshya Sen setting the mood for the tie with a stunning win, all the Indian shuttlers today played very well and was close to winning almost every encounter. Eventually, Lakshya Sen, the doubles duo of Hariharan/Ruban Kumar and finally Mithun Manjunath successfully carried India to a 3-2 victory against Hong Kong China.
Playing a lot of deciders today, India was in good form as they got their first win in this campaign and saved faced after a dismal outing against Korea on Day 1.

Lee Cheuk Yiu steals back the serve from Lakshya and gets five points on the trot here to take the lead at 12-11 in this opening game.
Sen cannot let Lee take control, not at this stage.

We are into Game 1 and Lakshya Sen is a man on a mission!
Lakshya Sen has made a very positive headway in today's first match against Lee Cheuk Yiu and is off to a 10-6 lead in the opening game.
Let's hope he can hold on to this momentum because Lee is not to be taken lightly.

This is set to be a battle of equals as World No. 13 Lakshya Sen takes on World No. 17 Lee Cheuk Yiu in the first match of the tie!
The duo have split their wins at 1-1 so far and this is the third occasion they are meeting. Sen is hungry for a win and eager to give India a good start in the tie against Hong Kong China, let's goo!
