Badminton Asia Junior C'ships: Gnana Dattu and Tanvi Parti enter Semis, Secure medals
Gnana Dattu & Tanvi Parti reach semifinals at Badminton Asia U-17 & U-15 Junior Championships, securing medals for India.
Two of India's most promising young badminton talents, Gnana Dattu and Tanvi Parti, have surged into the semifinals of the Badminton Asia U-17 & U-15 Junior Championships on Friday, securing themselves medals in their respective categories.
In the Under-15 category, top-seeded Tanvi Parti showcased her dominance by overcoming seventh-seeded Shu Jie Cheng from China.
Tanvi dispatched her opponent in a swift match, winning in straight games with scores of 21-10, 21-12, to secure her place in the semifinals.
She is set to face sixth-seeded Kungkaew Kakanik of Thailand in the next round, with her sights set on a spot in the finals.
Meanwhile, in the U-17 category, second-seeded shuttler Tankara Gnana Dattu Talasila delivered a thrilling performance against Chung-Hsiang Yih of Chinese Taipei.
Despite a challenging start, Gnana Dattu fought back fiercely, winning the match in three games with scores of 14-21, 21-19, 14-21. He will now face Radithya Bayu Wardhana of Indonesia in the semifinals, with hopes of advancing to the finals.
Unfortunately, India's other shuttlers, Abhinav Garg and Tanvi Reddy, were unable to advance past the quarterfinals.
Competing in the Under-17 category, Abhinav put up a strong fight against Lee Yu Jui of Chinese Taipei, dominating the second game with a score of 21-3.
However, he was unable to maintain his momentum, ultimately losing the match with final scores of 11-21, 21-3, 17-21.
Tanvi Reddy faced a tough challenge against Sun Yi Fei of China, losing in straight games 10-21, 18-21.
Additionally, the Under-15 men's doubles pair of Rahul Kadapakula and Vedant Pahwa were defeated by Yu Xiang Chen and En Chi Kao of Chinese Taipei.
The Indian duo battled hard in a closely contested three-game match but ultimately fell short with scores of 14-21, 21-19, 14-21.
As the semifinals are set for tomorrow, all eyes will be on Gnana Dattu and Tanvi Parti as they aim to bring glory to India at the Badminton Asia U-17 & U-15 Junior Championships.
