The stage is set for the knockout rounds of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships, with top teams gearing up for intense clashes.

The highly anticipated quarter-final draw has lined up some exciting matchups: China will take on Hong Kong China, Japan will face India, Chinese Taipei will battle Indonesia, and Thailand will go head-to-head with South Korea.

India, despite a narrow 2-3 defeat to South Korea in their final group-stage match, secured a place in the knockout rounds as the second-best team in Group D.

They will now embark on a tough challenge against Japan in their bid for a semi-final spot tomorrow.

The Indian mixed badminton team put up a strong fight in their final group match against South Korea in Qingdao, Shandong, China, earlier today. After losing the first two matches, India made a spirited comeback to level the score at 2-2. However, the final men’s doubles match proved decisive, with the Indian pair falling short, resulting in a 2-3 defeat.

Despite the defeat, India’s overall performance in the group stage ensured their progress to the knockout rounds.

With a challenging quarter-final against Japan ahead, the team will need to be at their best to advance further in the tournament
