Kidambi Srikanth lost to Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Long Angus in straight games, in the second round of Indonesia Open Super 1000 tournament on Thursday. However, women’s singles star PV Sindhu advanced to the quarter-finals. Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth’s forlorn continues after his early exit in the Indonesia open. He was knocked out by Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Long Angus in the second round of the tournament. At the Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta in a 39-minute second round match Srikanth was beaten in straight games 17-21, 19-21. Srikanth struggled against Ng Ka Long Angus right from the start and Ng Ka Long won 5 straight points after the mid game interval in the first round to put pressure on srikanth.

Srikanth tried hard to take the match into the decider but Ng Ka Long converted the 2nd of the 2 match points to advance into the quarter final. Srikanth’s forlorn continues in the on-going season. He has struggled to go past the quarter final stages of tournaments on the tour since the final of India Open, the Super 500 tournament in March. In June he was knocked out in the 1st round of Badminton Asia Championships. After two month long break expectations were high but after his second round exit from Indonesia open his poor form this season continues. However earlier in the day women’s single star PV Sindhu entered the quarterfinals after facing the strong challenge from Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt.  Sindhu defeated her 21-14, 17-21, 21-11. On Friday, Sindhu will face her old rival Nozomi Okuhara.
