All-England Open 2025: India competed in all five categories in the second round of the All-England Open as they have one representative each in all the categories in Birmingham, England, on Thursday.
Lakshya Sen defeated defending champion Jonatan Christie (21-13, 21-10) to enter the quarterfinals.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty retired due to injury in their second-round match against Xie Haonan and Zeng Weihan.
Malvika Bansod lost to Akane Yamaguchi (16-21, 13-21), ending India's women’s singles campaign.
PV Sindhu also crashed out in the second round.
Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand advanced to the next round, defeating Hye Kim and Hee Kong (15-21, 21-18, 21-18).
