India's quest for an elusive All England crown will begin anew today as Indian badminton stars will get to the grind to end the 21-year-drought since the last All England win by Pullela Gopichand.
At the end of Day 1, HS Prannoy, MR Arjun/Dhruv Kapila, Krishna Prasad/Vishnuvardhan Goud, Meghana/Poorvisha, Sameer Verma, Sai Praneeth, Parupalli Kashyap, Ashwini/Sikki, Aakarshi Kashyap, Sourabh Verma, Ishaan/Tanisha, Venkat Prasad/Juhi Dewangan have lost.
Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth are the only ones through to the Round of 16 after emphatic wins!

Sai Praneeth draws level at 18-18!!
Some really solid points from Sai Praneeth here as it is 18-18 now! Axelsen with net errors that cost him.

Axelsen makes a few uncommon errors here and Praneeth makes the most of it now!

Meanwhile, Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy are also in action!
In another Women's doubles clash, the veteran pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy are in action against the Japanese duo of Iwanaga and Nakanishi.
So far, the Indians are behind in the opening game.

Bit of a slip from Axelsen but he staggers on...he has the lead
Sai Praneeth is making Axelsen run around now, pulling him to the net but so far, Axelsen is doing very well and is the one commanding the lead at 9-4.
Bit of a slip though from Axelsen gifts Praneeth a point but that victory is short-lived.

And a 49-shot rally with both players moving well, already!
Sai Praneeth is looking good on the court and is good with the defence but Axelsen hits out strongly with his booming smashes. Classy rallies are also taking place, good to see Praneeth moving well after so long.
Still a lot of work to be done, though.

It'll be Sai Praneeth back in show next - but he has to go up against Viktor Axelsen!
A tough match coming up for India next as Sai Praneeth makes a comeback to badminton!
Axelsen has been in the finals of the All England Open in the last three editions and is looking to make it to his fourth this year!
Sai Praneeth has never had luck against the World No. 1 Dane. This will be an interesting watch.
