After an underwhelming start Kara Winger gets things going at 61.96m. That's the first good throw of the second round - and the first legal throw after 5 back to back fouls.
Annu Rani remains 10th.

Competition leader Mackenzie Little with an underwhelming 49.78 and she is followed by 4 fouls back to back from Jaisunaite, Liu, Gleadle and Kitaguchi.

Sae Takemoto of Japan goes 57.93m in her second attempt and Annu Rani is down to 10th. She needs to be among the top 8 at the end of three throws to have get three more throws in the final.

Nothing impressive from the Indian national record holder as she manages just 56.18m. She is 9th overall after all the first-round throws. Not the kind of start she would have hoped for.
