Meet the athlete in Shark Tank who had run a marathon while being 6 months pregnant

CEO and co-founder of Sugar Cosmetics, Vineeta Singh who is a Shark (Judge) in Shark Tank India, is also quite known for her running.

In 2018, Vineeta was six months pregnant when she participated in Mumbai half-marathon. She ran 21 km in 2:24:15s with her husband Kaushik Mukherjee by her side. In an interview with Mid-day back then, Vineeta said, "I have been running full marathons since 2007. I have run nine full marathons so far and it was a different feeling to complete the half marathon today being pregnant. Since I am six months pregnant, I had to take medical advice before I ran."

Vineeta who is an ultra-marathoner and triathlete is an alumnus of IIT-Madras and IIM-Ahemdabad. She got into running when she was at IIM-Ahemdabad, which soon turned into a great combination of fitness and fun for the budding entrepreneur.

Running also helped Vineeta overcome her PCOS diagnosis and since then running has become her favourite fitness activity.

Vineeta has participated in 20 marathons, ultramarathons and various half-marathons. In 2017, she also completed the Ironman marathon which includes – 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and a 42 km full marathon. The famous Shark has also completed the 89 km Comrades Ultramarathon three consecutive times.

Vineeta has said that running has also helped her in long-term thinking in her professional life and made her one of the leading entrepreneurs in India. Her brand Sugar is now one of the leading cosmetics brands in India.

Alongside six other top entrepreneurs in the country, Vineeta is now a judge in Shark Tank India, where they invest in start-ups and guide upcoming entrepreneurs with their businesses.
