On his return to the field following an injury scare, World Champion Neeraj Chopra clinched the top spot at the Paavo Nurmi Games 2024 in Tukru on Tuesday.
Competing against the likes of Oliver Helander, Anderson Peters, Keshorn Walcott, and Max Dehning, Neeraj threw 85.97m as his best throw to take the top spot.
This is second win for Neeraj Chopra in the season after he won the Federation Cup last month in Bhubaneswar.

Heavy Competition for Neeraj!!
At the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland, Neeraj will face tough competition in the javelin throw from the likes of 2012 Olympic gold medalist Keshorn Walcott from Trinidad and Tobago, two-time world champion Anderson Peters from Grenada, Finnish local favorite Oliver Helander, and 19-year-old German Max Dehning, who has already surpassed the 90m mark. However, this will be a good test for Chopra before he heads to the Paris Olympics with his eyes set on the coveted second gold medal.

This is Chopra's third event this year!!
Neeraj Chopra is set to resume his 2024 season. He has already participated in two events this year, namely the Doha Diamond League and the Federation Cup held in Bhubaneswar. After securing a second-place finish at the Doha Diamond League in May to kick off his season, Neeraj Chopra swiftly transitioned to competing at the Federation Cup in India a week later, where he emerged victorious with a gold medal with a throw of 82.27 metres.
