National Games 2025: Jyothi Yarraji, Tejas Shirse win third consecutive gold
Jyothi Yarraji and Tejas Shirse secured their third consecutive National Games gold medals in hurdles, setting new Games records and reinforcing their dominance in Indian athletics.

Jyothi Yarraji and Tejas Shirse continued their dominance in Indian athletics by securing their third consecutive gold medals in the women's 100m hurdles and men's 110m hurdles, respectively, at the national games 2025, on Sunday.
Both athletes also set new games records in their events, reaffirming their status as the country’s top hurdlers.
Andhra Pradesh’s Jyothi Yarraji, the reigning Asian champion and Hangzhou Asian Games silver medallist, clocked 13.10 seconds in the 100m hurdles final, improving her own previous national games record of 13.22 seconds set in 2023.
Though short of her national record of 12.78 seconds, her performance underlined her consistency and dominance on the track.
She also qualified for the Asian Athletics Championships.
West Bengal’s Moumita Mondal claimed silver with a time of 13.36 seconds, while Tamil Nadu’s Nithya Ramraj secured bronze in 13.60 seconds.
Maharashtra’s Tejas Shirse, the national record holder in the 110m hurdles, won his third straight national games gold, clocking 13.65 seconds to break his previous games record of 13.71 seconds set in 2023. He had first won the title in 2022 with a time of 13.84 seconds.
Tamil Nadu’s Manav Rajanarayanan took silver with a time of 14.03 seconds, while Kerala’s Muhammed Lazan secured bronze in 14.23 seconds.
Veteran hurdler Siddhanth Thingalaya, a former national record holder and 2015 national games champion, was unable to finish the final.
