Jyothi Yarraji clocks 12.85s t the WACT Bronze EA-IFAM

India's Jyothi Yarraji continued her encouraging return from injury by clocking 12.85 seconds to win the women's 100m hurdles at the WACT Bronze EA-IFAM Outdoor Meet in Oordegem, Belgium, on Saturday.
Competing in her first overseas meet since recovering from an ACL injury, the national record holder produced her fastest time in three years and moved another step closer to her personal best of 12.78s.
The performance follows her successful comeback at the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships in June, where she won gold in 12.99s after more than a year on the sidelines.
The 2023 and 2025 Asian champion is now building momentum ahead of the 2026 Asian Games, where she will look to upgrade the silver medal she won in Hangzhou.
Animesh places fourth in men's 100m
In the men's 100m, national record holder in the 200m Animesh Kujur finished fourth with a time of 10.30 seconds.
The result comes after a productive European campaign for the Indian sprinter. Earlier this month, Kujur set a personal best of 10.14s in Wetzlar, Germany, the fastest 100m ever run by an Indian on foreign soil and the second-fastest by an Indian overall.
The 23-year-old had also claimed the sprint double at the National Inter-State Championships in June, winning the 100m in 10.28s and the 200m in 20.74s. He later represented India at the Commonwealth Games, reaching the men's 200m semi-finals.
With both athletes showing encouraging form in Europe, India's sprint programme will take confidence from their performances as preparations continue for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya later this year.
