National Inter-State Athletics: Day 3 of the National Inter-State Athletics has concluded in Panchkula. The day witnessed an outstanding performance from Sarvesh Kushare, who jumped a new meet record and season-best of 2.25m, consolidating his position on the road to Paris. Tejaswin Shankar won the silver medal but missed the Olympic cutoff.
Tajinderpal Singh Toor clinched the gold medal by throwing 19.93m, keeping him well-positioned in the Olympic quota. Avinash Sable and Parul Chaudhary clinched the gold medals in the steeplechase.
In the men's long jump, Arya S of Karnataka won the gold medal with a 7.78m effort, while national record holder Jeswin Aldrin could only manage 7.75m.Aravinth E claimed the bronze with 7.73m, pushing former national champion Muhammed Anees Yahiya (7.64m) out of the podium spots.
The National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships conclude on Sunday.
