A host of top Indian throwers were in action at the 3rd Indian Open Throws Competition in Patiala, Punjab on Friday.
Damneet Singh from Punjab wins gold in the Men's Hammer Throw with a distance of 65.82m. Gurudev Singh, also from Punjab and Mukul from Uttar Pradesh finish second and third with 61.87m and 61.61m respectively.
Tajinderpal Singh Toor defended hid title in men's shot put while Abha Khatua broke her pen meet record in women's shot put to claim gold medal. Both players will be eyeing to get near the Paris Qualification through rankings after this positive result..
Young Vikrant Malik started the year on a high note with a gold medal in men's javelin with a 81.68m amongst a very big startlist having 40+ Javelin throwers.

Prateek of Haryana clinched the gold in U-20 men's hammer throw (6Kg)
Prateek clinched the gold with a throw of 62.75m followed by Harshit Kumar of Uttar Pradesh (59.93) for silver medal.
Bronze medal goes to Aryan of Rajasthan with 54.34m.
