Men's Steeplechase The absolute star event for the day. Avinash Sable not only makes the Asian C'ships cut, he sets a new National record and a meet record after finishing with a timing of 8:28.94s. Rajasthan's Shankar Lal Swami also finished within the mandated 8:35.
Women's 3000m Steeplechase Upcoming long distance runner Parul takes the gold. No one crosses the Asian mark.
Men's 1500m Finals. Jinson Johnson makes the markfor Asian Athletics C'ships and is a cut above everyone else. He is one of three people to meet the Asian C'ships mark Asiad medalist Manjit Singh did not finish the race. Women's 400m Finals Underwhelming performance by Hima Das in the Federation Cup continues into the final despite her winning the Gold. Last year's Federation Cup had been a breakthrough for young Das who made the cut for the Commonwealth Games through this.
