Animesh Kujur Clinches 200m Gold, Named Best Male Athlete at Indian Open U23 Athletics

Odisha sprinter Animesh Kujur made headlines once again, securing his second gold medal at the Indian Open U23 Athletics Competition.
On Monday, Kujur triumphed in the men’s 200m final with a meet record time of 20.65 seconds, surpassing his previous record of 20.87 seconds, which he had set in 2023.
This victory comes just a day after the 21-year-old sprinter won the 100m dash, clocking in at 10.40 seconds to claim his first gold medal of the competition.
His exceptional performances earned him the title of the best male athlete of the meet.
In the women’s events, Gujarat’s Devyaniba Zala was named the best female athlete after winning the 400m race with a time of 53.53 seconds on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra’s Sudeshna Hanmant Shivankar emerged as the fastest female sprinter, clinching gold in the 100m race with a time of 11.76 seconds.
