The 2026 Asian Para Games are set to get underway on 16 October, with action beginning in Table Tennis, Football, and Badminton at the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium in Aichi, Japan.
The fifth edition of the Games will run from 16 to 24 October across Aichi and Nagoya, with the opening ceremony scheduled for 18 October at Paloma Mizuho Stadium.
India will be represented by a 168-athlete contingent competing in 11 sports: para athletics, para badminton, para swimming, para shooting, para archery, para table tennis, football 5-a-side, para powerlifting, para judo, boccia and para cycling.
Star performers including Pramod Bhagat, Sheetal Devi, Sumit Antil, Nitesh Kumar, Avani Lekhara, Harvinder Singh and Bhavina Patel Murugesan will lead India’s charge for gold.
The Indian campaign begins on 16 October with multiple group-stage matches in para badminton, para table tennis and football 5-a-side.
Medal events get underway on 19 October, offering plenty of medal opportunities across para shooting, para athletics, para powerlifting and judo.
