The Indian rowing team, pentathlete Mayank Chaphekar, and men's volleyball team were be in action on 20 September 2023.
India had an encouraging start to the day in rowing, with a 5 of teams advancing to the final races and bunch of the others into repechage races. Mayank Chaphekar also gave good debut to modern pentahlon sport for India in Asian Games with fencing ranking round.
But the icing on the cake was Indian men volleyball team achieving a historic victory over the silver medalists from the previous edition, South Korea. The match was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, with India emerging victorious in a thrilling 3-2 victory (25-27, 29-27, 25-22, 20-25, 17-15) that lasted an intense two hours and 38 minutes. India enter the round of 12 which will be played on Friday.
