Though PV Sindhu lost to He Bingjiao in straight games in her quarterfinal match, HS Prannoy in men's singles and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty in men's doubles confirmed medals for India by reaching the semifinals at BJ Gymnasium in the Asian Games 2023.

    And the Chinese player earns the first point with a deceptive net play. Sindhu draws level at 1-1.

    What an exhilarating match!

    China's Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong are the world's number 1 mixed doubles pair for a reason. They fought back from 17-20 to win the second game and advanced to the semifinals with a straight-game (21-14, 23-21) win over Malaysia's Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei.

    PV Sindhu vs He Bingjiao

    Court 1 is currently occupied by a mixed doubles quarterfinal match between Zheng Siwei-Huang Yaqiong of China and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei of Malaysia.

    The match is now in its deciding third game. PV Sindhu's much-anticipated clash against He Bingjiao will start after this match.

    PV Sindhu in action

    PV Sindhu will take on world no. 5 He Bingjiao of China on Court 1.

    Sindhu and Bingjiao played each other 19 times, with the Chinese player enjoying a slender lead. They last met at the Malaysia Masters in 2022 when Sindhu won a three-setter.

    At the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Sindhu defeated Bingjiao in straight games (21-13, 21-15) to win her second Olympic medal.
