Wait is over | Men's doubles semifinal finally begins

We are finally heading into the Satwik-Chirag vs Chia-Soh men's doubles semifinal clash at court 1 of BJ Gymnasium. 

Shi Yu Qi beats Kodai Naraoka to set up an all-Chinese men's singles final against Li Shi Feng.

Satwik and Chirag, the only remaining Indian pair at the Asian Games 2023, will play Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia in the men's doubles semifinal at 6:00 PM IST.

Shi Feng through to semis, Prannoy gets bronze

Prannoy's toss goes wide this time and Shi Feng shows better judgement. The world no. 8 gets the better of world no. 7. Shi Feng wins the second game 21-9 and the match in straight games. This is Shi Feng's first win against Prannoy after three defeats, and it comes on the big stage of the Asian Games.

Prannoy wins bronze - India's first since 1982 in men's singles at the Asian Games.

Final result: Li Shi Feng beats HS Prannoy 21-16, 21-9 in 51 minutes

Game 2: Shi Feng leads 19-9

Shi Feng is too quick on his foot. He converts a defence into an offence. He defends Prannoy's smash and then wins a point with a simple flick. 19-9 lead for Shi Feng.

Game 2: Shi Feng beats Prannoy at the net

Prannoy misses the trick. Shi Feng wins the net battle with a quick flick. He leads 18-9.

Game 2: Prannoy goes wide

Shi Feng is just four points away from taking the match. He leads 17-9 now.

Game 2: Shi Feng takes an eight-point lead

Prannoy assesses it wrong and Shi Feng extends his lead to 16-7. 

But Prannoy manages to win a point to trail 8-16 as Shi Feng's shot goes wide.
