The 2026 Asian Games officially begin on September 19, but India’s campaign will get underway two days earlier with the teqball competition in Nagoya.

India has sent a 496-athlete contingent to Aichi-Nagoya, with athletes competing across 36 sports. The squad includes Olympic medallists Mirabai Chanu, PV Sindhu, Aman Sehrawat and Manu Bhaker.

The Indian men’s doubles pair of Declan Gonsalves and Mohamed Anas Beg will be the first Indian athletes in action at the Games.

The duo will play two group-stage matches against Vietnam and South Korea on September 17. If they finish in the top two of their group, they will advance to the quarter-finals later the same day.
