Asian Games 2026: India enjoyed another strong day at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, winning four shooting medals while continuing their impressive run across hockey, kabaddi, table tennis and badminton.
Himanshu Dhillon won silver and Rudrankksh Patil bronze in the men’s 10m air rifle individual event, giving India their first-ever double podium in the event at the Asian Games. India also won silver in the team event through Rudrankksh, Himanshu and Parth Mane.
Suchika Tariyal created history by winning India’s first-ever Asian Games MMA medal, taking bronze in the women’s Traditional 60kg category.
The hockey teams continued their dominance, with the women thrashing Indonesia 17-1 and the men winning 13-1. India’s kabaddi teams also impressed, with the women beating Bangladesh 42-21 and the men defeating Japan 49-24.
The men’s and women’s table tennis teams both beat Pakistan 3-0, while the men’s badminton team defeated Bangladesh 3-0. Boxer Sumit Kundu and wushu fighters Roshibina Devi and Aryan also advanced in their respective events.
India will return on Tuesday with more medal opportunities, including the women’s cricket gold-medal match against Sri Lanka and the women’s badminton quarterfinal against Japan.

Swimming, Men's 50m Backstroke Final: Srihari Nataraj in action
India's Srihari Nataraj will take to the swimming pool at 1:30pm IST. He will battle for a podium in men's 50m backstroke.
He had clocked 25.37s to qualify for the final and will have to shave off nearly a second to stand a chance of winning a medal.
Remember, India has not won a swimming medal in the last two editions. India's last medal win in the pool at the Asian Games was way back in 2014, when Sandeep Sejwal stood on the podium.
