Day 2 Wrap: India add four shooting medals, Suchika wins MMA bronze as hockey and kabaddi dominate!

• Shooting: Himanshu Dhillon won silver and Rudrankksh Patil claimed bronze in the men’s 10m air rifle individual event, giving India its first-ever double podium finish in the event at the Asian Games. 

• Shooting: Himanshu, Rudrankksh and Parth Mane also won silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event, taking India’s shooting medal tally to five.

• MMA: Suchika Tariyal won bronze in the women’s 60kg Traditional category after losing her semifinal to Singapore’s Hui Hoon Teo in overtime. It is India’s first-ever Asian Games MMA medal..

• Women’s Hockey: India thrashed Indonesia 17-1, with Rutuja Pisal, Deepika Sehrawat and Navneet Kaur scoring hat-tricks.

• Men’s Kabaddi: India opened their title defence with a dominant 49-24 win over Japan, producing four all-outs and two super tackles.

• Women’s Kabaddi: India defeated Bangladesh 42-21 in their Group A opener. India dominated for most of the contest, taking an 11-point lead at half-time before completing a comfortable 21-point victory.

• Table Tennis: India defeated Pakistan 3-0, with Harmeet Desai, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Payas Jain winning their matches in straight games. Indian women's team also swept Pakistan 3-0 in their final Group F clash.

• Men’s Badminton: India began their campaign with a 3-0 win over Bangladesh, with Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty and Kidambi Srikanth winning their singles matches..

• Boxing: Sumit Kundu defeated Thailand’s Sinsiri Bunjong 5-0 by unanimous decision in the men’s 70kg preliminary round.

• Wushu: Roshibina Devi advanced to the women’s 60kg Sanda quarterfinals after beating Bangladesh’s Most Shika Khatun by point difference. Aryan also reached the men’s 56kg quarterfinals with a 2-0 win over Afghanistan’s Safi Shahzada.

• Soft Tennis: Jay Meena and Aadhya Tiwari reached the mixed doubles Round of 16 before losing to the Philippines.

• Swimming: Srihari Nataraj finished last in the men’s 50m backstroke final, while India’s men’s 4x200m freestyle relay team finished ninth and missed the final.

• Sepak Takraw: India lost 1-2 to Japan in the men’s Team Regu Group B tie despite winning the opening match.

• Wushu Changquan: Nyeman Wangsu finished 15th in the women’s final.

Wushu: Men’s 56kg Sanda: Aryan vs Safi Shahzada!

India’s Aryan advances to the quarterfinals after defeating Afghanistan’s Safi Shahzada 2-0 in the Round of 16. Another Indian fighter moves into the last eight at the Asian Games.

Kabaddi: Women’s Group Stage: India vs Bangladesh!

Full Time: India beat Bangladesh 42-21 to make a winning start in the Group A campaign. India dominated for large stretches of the contest, taking an 11-point lead into half-time before maintaining their advantage in the second half.

With six minutes to go, India lead Bangladesh 35-19.  The Indian team continue to hold a commanding advantage as they close in on victory.

India continue to dominate the second half, leading 30-13 against Bangladesh. Sanju Devi looked for a bonus point and successfully picked up one point as India extend their advantage.

The second half gets underway with India adding two points to extend their lead to 23-11 against Bangladesh. India continues to hold a commanding advantage as the contest resumes.

India dominate the first half and head into the break with a 21-10 lead over Bangladesh. Bangladesh had their moments during the half, but India controlled the contest for the most part and take an 11-point advantage into the second half.

India lead 17-6 against Bangladesh. The Indian team dominated the opening 20 minutes, taking a commanding 11-point advantage into the break.

Bangladesh hit back with a super raid, cutting India’s lead to 13-6. India still hold a commanding seven-point advantage, but Bangladesh have found some momentum.
